For me, great food is always simple, fresh, and shared with people I love. Nothing is more emblematic of this than food cooked and shared around the soot blackened stones encircling a campfire. This page is meant to share the joys, inspirations, excitement, and pleasure I find in simple flavors and the freshest food prepared with, for, and by the people I love.

Why Blog?

I am fairly late in coming to the blogging game. To be honest, I just never really got it. I tried out a few blogs when they first started rearing their heads, but it always felt bizarrely and uncomfortably like reading someone's diary who I didn't even know. Was I really supposed to be interested in or care about this stuff. Recently I ventured back into the blogging world with a nudge from my friend Sarah, who claimed to have a found a blog I would love. Much to my surprise I did. It opened my eyes to a whole string of blogs (some of which are listed on this site) that rose beyond the drivel of the broken, venting hearts' angst-ridden laments over the latest American Idol decision. These blogs not only shared insite and knowledge, but put something constructive out into the world. It has not been uncommon, as I am developing a new recipe or dish, for me to seek out inspiration in one of these sites. Hopefully this blog can contribute in that way. For me, this blog is an opportunity to explore and chronicle the experiences I have had as I develop myself as a chef and try to find my own style in the fickle and fast-paced world of food. I hope that those of you reading this might find new ideas, fun inspiration, and great food. Enjoy!
